In addition to those laid by Charles Penn, Chair of the Winterbournes Parish Council; Lt Col Ciaron Dyer, Commandant of DCBRNC Winterbourne Gunner and Lt Cdr Dennis Murphy RN, a fourth wreath was laid by retired Group Captain Neville Cooper, on behalf of the Singapore Association, Coastal Command - RAF Changi. Over 250 people, including many members of the young people's uniformed organisations, serving and retired military personnel and civilians from local communities, attended, to remember and give thanks for those who made such sacrifices in war, that we might live in peace. |

Bishop Joseph Aba, himself a refugee, helps care for thousands of South Sudanese, and thanks to CRESS, is currently visiting England. |
It was a privilege to meet him, and to learn more about the immense challenges faced, due to conflict, poverty and shortages of food and medicines. CRESS works tirelessly to help provide the resources and support that can make a real difference to the lives of families who have lost so much, and we were delighted to raise over £400 in donations at the Lent Lunch. Please visit https://cressuk.org/ to find out more about this locally based charity and to donate to their lifesaving work - thank you. |

'The bells were reinstalled in the tower at St Michael & All Angels Church, Winterbourne Earls, at the end of January, having had new headstocks, pulley wheels and ropes fitted. Very grateful thanks to Whites of Appleton for all their work, and to everyone who contributed to the fundraising for this project. The bells were rung on Sunday 6 February, to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Queen's Accession, and will be available for Weddings, Sunday services and for anyone who enjoys, or wants to learn, bell ringing.
